Do you want to know the secret for making creamy hummus?
Boil your can of chickpeas in water for 20 minutes with 1/2 tsp of baking soda.
Then enjoy the creamy flavorful hummus spread with vegetables, crackers, pita bread or on sandwiches.
This is a healthy Meditarranean snack full of protein 😋
INGREDIENTS
1 can chickpeas
2 tbs juice of chickpeas
1 large clove of garlic
2 tbs olive oil
1/3 c Tahini
1 tsp cumin
Ice cubes
Juice of fresh lemon 🍋
1 tsp sea salt
HOW TO MAKE CREAMY HUMMUS
STEP 1
Boil chickpeas in water for 20 minutes adding adding a 1/2 a teaspoon of baking soda. Cover pot.
STEP 2
- In a high powered blender of food processor blend Lemon juice, garlic and salt.
- Add tahini and 2 ice cubes or ice water and blend until creamy.
- Add cumin and chickpeas.
- Drizzle in olive oil and blend until creamy.
- Taste and add more salt or lemon if needed.
Top with olive oil and sundried tomatoes 🍅

CREAMY GREEN HUMMUS
Use the same recipe above and add your favorite greens. I used pea shoots and Florida spinach (water leaf) and added Cuban citrus seasoning from Trader Joe’s.
This spread is great for vegetarians, vegans and those who follow a plant-based diet because it provides a boost of delicious protein to their daily intake 😀
